Where to find the ESC constant in Starfield after first contact

After locating ESC Constant in orbit around Porrima II in the Porrima system, where you find Paradiso, you will need to complete the First Contact mission. If you buy a grav drive for the ESC Constant, they will leave Porrima II and be difficult to track down. Here’s how to find the ESC constant in Starfield.

Starfield ESC Persistent location after first contact

Two things: first,  the ESC Constant is constantly moving  . If one player discovers it in orbit around a planet, you may not find it there and it will move to a random new location after you leave.

Secondly, during my research I discovered  a bug  in the Dear Sister quest, which is a quest that asks you to find the ESC constant after completing First Contact, which prevents you from finding the actual location of the ESC constant.

While we wait for Bethesda to fix this bug, there is  a brute force fix  that will allow you to find the ESC constant. You can float aimlessly through the stars hoping to find the ESC constant or use this console command.

Thanks to a helpful Reddit thread, there’s  a special console command  you can use to create the ESC constant right in front of you. If it weren’t broken, the Dear Sister quest would lead you to the ESC constant, but the only fix for this buggy quest at the moment is a console command.

The console command to immediately search for the ESC constant in the Starfield is  “prid 002031e8”. Enter this value without a period, and the ESC constant will be created right before your eyes. After this, you will be able to complete any quest related to the ESC constant.

After you leave, the ESC constant will move to a random location, so if you need to quickly find the ESC constant again,  use the console command  . Keep in mind that using console commands disables achievements, but if that doesn’t matter to you, go ahead. Otherwise, there is no easy way to find the ESC constant in the Starfield yet.
