Steam Reached 10 Million Online Users Simultaneously for the First Time

The number of players on the digital gaming platform Steam recently exceeded 10 million active users.

This number was reached for the first time on January 7, 2023.

We can say that there is a wide variety of free-to-play games such as Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty: Warzone 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, etc. that have helped this growth in the popularity of the platform.

Of course, we should not forget other popular games. For example, Apex Legends. There are different paid games that have helped increase the popularity, including Among Us, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Steam Can’t Get Enough of Records

According to SteamDB, the total number of concurrent users reached a record high of 10,016,459 on January 7 . For the first time, more than 10 million users were seen playing games on Steam simultaneously.

The record was achieved by starting to play some of the games they bought during Steam’s recent winter sale. The number of players on the platform has been steadily increasing, reaching 32 million concurrent users earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the single most popular game right now appears to be Elden Ring, which has been awarded multiple “Game of the Year” awards, including on Steam. I’m sure we will see more records from Steam in the coming days, I wish everyone a healthy day. 🙂
